Glenoak Hills is around 35 minutes east of the 15 freeway in Temecula California. In this blog post and video, we will go over some of the amenities,  housing costs, and availability, and a few of the pros and cons of living in Glenoak Hills, one of the top neighborhoods in Temecula.  At the end of this blog post, I created a home search specifically for GlenOak Hills. This home search will update you daily and give you anything upcoming and actively available in the area. 


Glen Oak Hills is around 1300 Acres, just east of many of the wineries in Temecula Wine Country. Glen Oak Hills has land parcels ranging from 2.5-10 acres. There are over 300 custom-built homes in the community and the HOA has amenities that include a clubhouse, two tennis courts, playground, and horseback riding arena.


I have seen homes ranging from 0 HOA to quarterly to monthly. My advice is to make sure you understand both what the monthly or quarterly fee is and the rules and regulations.


I don’t usually talk about home prices when it comes to areas of Temecula because they are always changing. That’s why I add a home search Link at the bottom of each one of my blog posts with the most updated listings and coming soon homes available. 

The Glenoaks Community does have homes ranging in size from 1300 sq ft all the way up to 6500. The average lot size sold over the past 1000 days is around 5 Acres. Expect Rolling Hills, beautiful views, agricultural and horse-type feel. There will be homes that are stunning and have been totally remodeled or newly built.  There will also be homes that need work, which could provide some great opportunities to get in a home at a lesser price or even flipping possibilities. 


Serene, quiet, peaceful, lots of space and, endless agricultural or horse opportunities are what I would describe GlenOak Hills to be. These properties and homes will keep you busy and can be perfect for a retiree that still wants to work to some degree. If you enjoy Landscaping, growing fruits or vegetables or horses we highly suggest looking into this area. Glen Oak Hills reminds me a little bit of De Luz. The one benefit of Glen Oak Hills over Deluz is that it will be closer to the wineries and a little bit closer to things you need every day like grocery stores, gasoline, restaurants etc. If you would like my information on De Luz,  I have an in-depth article and video here.  


If you have never lived in a rural area it would be tough for me to suggest purchasing a million-dollar home in an area that you have no idea whether or not you’re going to enjoy, for an extended period. In Glen Oak Hills amenities are not just around the corner, besides the wineries. You will have to drive around 30 minutes to get into town to do anything. Also, there will be a lot of work, especially if you are growing citrus and avocado trees. Having over 5 Acres of the property will take time, especially if you plan on doing something with the land. Having said that, if you know that you like the rural feel, and don’t mind being outside and landscaping, Glenoaks is a great place to settle. 

It will also get pretty hot in the summer months, a pool would be a great addition if the home does not already have one. Again, that will be work, unless you hire somebody.
