Temecula’s Top 5 Things to Do in 2023

In the year 2020, Temecula is still unknown, but it is a great place to vacation, visit, or even live. In this blog post, I’m going to go over the top 5 things to do in Temecula in 2023. As a resident of Temecula, these are the five things I would do if I were to visit Temecula, California. I tried to keep some variety in these top 5 things to do in Temecula in 2023; hopefully, there is something for everyone.

Because we live here, we don’t really do the wine tour thing, but it’s definitely a great way to go if you are visiting. You don’t have to worry about driving, and it will allow you to experience different wineries. The wine country of Temecula is an unknown hidden gem and definitely one of the top 5 things to do in Temecula in 2023. If you decide to do a tour, Yelp is always a great place to read reviews, find out what things cost, and decide on a tour company.

Do a little research before booking the tour. Make sure the wineries you visit:

  1. Have the type of wine that you like to drink. (Reds versus Whites versus Champagnes versus Roses)
  2. They have the amenities that you are looking for in a winery. Example? Some wineries have restaurants; some wineries have overnight stays; and some wineries have better views than others. What’s important to you?
  3. Decide on what packages you would like from the wine tour provider. Do you want snacks throughout the day? Do you want a wine and cheese plate? Do you want drinks provided in the limo?
  4. Do the wineries you are going to visit have live music? Do you want live music?

Personally, I have mixed feelings about tours. Sometimes they are great and really work in your favor, and other times they limit what you can see and do. Here are a few links to some of our favorite wineries. We love each of these wineries for different reasons.

Avensole Winery

Leoness Winery

Some of them have better wine than others; some of them have a little better nightlife; some of them have much better views than others. Regardless, Temecula wine country is a beautiful area, and you will have a fun, relaxing day.

Explore Temecula’s Old Town.

Old Town Temecula is something that is a must-see and definitely makes our list of the top 5 things to do in Temecula in 2023. Old Town Temecula is very walkable and would take about 2 hours to walk up and down, visiting some of the boutique-style shops. There are numerous restaurants and eating establishments.

A few of the interesting stories include Au Savon de Provence, which is an all-natural soap store. Temecula Olive Oil Company is a very cool olive oil store that has tastings and many different olive oil blends. We have a YouTube video specifically on Old Town Temecula shopping here.

If you are going on a weekend, be aware that Old Town can get pretty busy. There is a large parking structure just off the main street of Old Town that has plenty of parking. It is very close to the bar called “Lukes on Front.”

If I were to spend two hours in Old Town, here is what I would do:

  1. Take a quick walk up and down to see all the different shops. My taste might be different than yours, so be sure to take in as much as possible.
  2. Coin-Op: Even though I’m not really into video games, this really is a cool place. Go in, play a game of basketball or Pac-Man, and have a drink.
  3. Do some olive oil tasting at Temecula Olive Oil Company.
  4. Go to Luke’s on Front Street and have a beer or soda on the upstairs patio; it has some great views.
Take a stroll around the promenade mall.

I am definitely not the shopping type, but the Promenade Mall is something that I could not leave out of our top 5 things to do in Temecula in 2022. The enjoyment I get from this place is walking around and going for a beer at one of the many restaurants. If you like to shop, this place will be heaven for you. It’s especially nice during the winter months when the Christmas lights are up.

One of our favorite things to do at the Promenade Mall is happy hour at Yard House. The atmosphere is great, the food is good, and during happy hour, they have crazy good prices. Most of their appetizers are half off which ends up being around 6 to $7 each. They also have “Wine Wednesdays,” which include half-off bottles of wine. They have tons of different beers and always have a great vibe with many TVs. cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval cheval

Spend the evening at the casino.

Before I get into specifics, the Pechanga Casino is much more than just gambling. I am personally not a gambler, but we often go and spend a Friday night at the Pechanga Casino because it has so much to offer besides losing money.

Pechanga Casino offers

RV Park: The RV park at the Pechanga Casino is truly beautiful. If you’re into RVing, you definitely need to spend a few nights here. Some amenities include 168 spacious sites that accommodate even the largest RVs or trailers. Free electricity (20, 30, and 50 amps), water, sewer hook-ups, WiFi, cable TV, two spas, and a heated pool are available at the Pechanga Casino. If you have pets, don’t worry; the Pechanga Casino is pet friendly, and your furry friends are welcome.

Golf Course

Journey at Pechanga was built in 2007 and plays 18 holes at 7200 yards. One of its claims to fame is the thousand-year-old coastal oak trees that line the course. The course is impeccable and well taken care of. The best way to play this course at a reasonable rate? Go on GolfNow and play early in the afternoon. You can usually find rounds on GolfNow for anywhere from $70 to $100. If you’re on vacation and a golfer, it’s probably the must-play golf course around the Temecula area.

Pool and Spa

If you’re making a day trip to Temecula and want some pampering and relaxation, look no further than the pool and spa at Pechanga. If you are staying at the Pechanga Casino, the pool and amenities are free for guests. If you would just like a day pass, they start at $44 and go up from there. Depending on whether you want a cabana and how many people are in your group, the cost of a day pass will vary.

Spa

There are many different packages that can be purchased for the spa. I’ve included a link where you can research and book your or Pechanga Spa packages rather than explaining everything here. click here

Make plans for a golf trip.

One of the best things about Temecula is how plentiful the golf courses are. In Temecula, you have courses that include Redhawk, Cross Creek, Temecula Hills, and Journey at Pechanga. One of the things I always rave about in Temecula is the low cost of playing some great courses. $50 or less pretty much guarantees you a round any day of the week. I mentioned this earlier on in this blog post, but GolfNow is a great resource to book inexpensive tee times and look for hot deals.

Redhawk

Redhawk plays a little over 7,000 yards from the rim. Many holes are risk-reward and challenging for any golfer. The Redhawk Golf Course is near the 79 and 15 freeways in Temecula. It is in the Red Hawk neighborhood.

Cross Creek

Cross Creek, a course beautifully designed by Arthur Hills, gives you a perfect look at the beauty of the Temecula Valley. The course is always well-maintained, with smooth greens, lush sand, and impeccable tee boxes. When playing Cross Creek, you really get the feeling that you’re in the middle of nowhere. It’s very relaxing and a great place to play.

Temeku Hills

Temeku Hills Place is just over 6,500 yards from the tips. Temeku Hills was designed by Ted Robinson and has since been updated by P. Dye. The golf course contains five lakes, a number of doglegs, true rolling greens, and stroke-stealing bunkers that guarantee to keep things interesting.

If you visit their website, they have “stay and play” packages available. Click Here
