Are you looking for a fun and exciting weekend getaway? Look no further than Temecula, California. This charming city offers a variety of activities and attractions for visitors, making it the perfect destination for a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Wine Tasting and Wine Tours

Temecula is famous for its wine country, and visitors can experience the best of it by taking part in wine tasting and wine tours. With a variety of wineries to choose from, you’ll be able to sample the finest wines and learn about the winemaking process.

If you would like more information on some of the most unique wineries in Temecula, please don’t hesitate to call us. We are happy to help! 951-897-9466 and just ask for Joel. We have been members of over 15 wineries over the years and have a pretty good idea of what wineries you should include in your tour. Just off the top of our heads, a few that we suggest you visit are Leoness, which has great wines and beautiful views. Read an article and watch a video here The newest winery in Temecula is called Altisima; here is a blog post and video showing you specifically everything you need to know about the winery. If you are the nostalgic type, make sure to visit Callaway, Temecula’s first winery. If you’re looking for a laid-back atmosphere with music and more of a nightlife scene, make sure to visit Somerset. Here is a blog post and video on Somerset Winery.

Make sure to map out the wineries before you actually leave. reason? You’ll be driving back and forth and spending way too much time driving as opposed to actually being at the wineries.

Shopping, Bar-Hopping, and Dining in Old Town

Old Town Temecula is a great place to spend a day shopping, bar-hopping, and dining. With a variety of shops, bars, and restaurants to choose from, you’ll be able to find something that appeals to your taste. Whether you’re looking for unique souvenirs or just a great meal, you’ll find it in Old Town.

A few of our favorite places in Old Town Temecula include Luke’s on Front for a drink. Take the elevator up and sit on the patio above the whole city. When it comes to eating or dining, our favorite restaurants include the gambling cowboy and the goat and vine. When it comes to the goat and vine, especially on weekends, make sure that you put your name on Yelp for a place in line. The wait times usually range from 1 hour to 3 hours. If you forget, you will not get a table until very late, if at all. Here is a blog post and video on Old Town Temecula.

Wineries with Hotels

For a truly immersive experience, consider staying at one of the wineries with hotels in Temecula. These properties offer guests the chance to stay in the heart of wine country, surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills. With comfortable accommodations and world-class amenities, you’ll have everything you need for a relaxing and rejuvenating stay.

A few wineries that do have accommodations right off the top of my head include Churon Winery and South Coast Winery Resort and Spa. Here is a video on Churon Winery. We actually did stay here, and it’s been a very quiet and relaxing weekend. The winery has beautiful views and is not a party atmosphere. They also have breakfast in the morning which is pretty good.

Shopping at the Promenade Outdoor Mall

If you’re a fan of shopping, be sure to visit the Promenade Outdoor Mall in Temecula. With a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options, this mall offers a fun and engaging experience for visitors of all ages.

To be totally honest, I hate shopping, but the Promenade Mall in Temecula is pretty cool. I would personally stay outside, walk along the sidewalk, and go to the outdoor shopping areas. A few of the restaurants that we frequent often include Yard House, Lazy Dog, and PF Chang’s. If you’re in this area during the week, Yard House has the best happy hour in Temecula. Definitely get the poke nachos.

Renting a Paddleboat at Lake Harveston

For a peaceful and calming experience, consider renting a paddleboat at Lake Harveston. This beautiful lake offers breathtaking views and a tranquil atmosphere, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind.

Lake Harveston is also one of my favorite places to walk in all of Temecula. It’s a 1-mile walking trail around the lake with tons of wildlife, and you’re usually going to have great weather. There are also picnic tables scattered throughout the park if you want to stop and have something to eat. If you would like an in-depth blog post that gives tons of information on the harvesting community, including a home search, click here.

Blueberry Picking

Temecula is also home to a number of blueberry farms, offering visitors the chance to pick their own fresh blueberries. This is a fun and tasty activity that is perfect for families or groups of friends.

This is an activity that not many people know about or have heard of, but it’s definitely a fun couple of hours if you’re here during blueberry season. The blueberries are very good, and I highly recommend doing this as an activity if you’re visiting Temecula for the weekend. Here is a video of us doing the blueberry picking.

Hot Air Balloon Rides

For a truly unique and unforgettable experience, consider taking a hot air balloon ride over Temecula. With breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, this is a must-do activity for anyone visiting the area.

Personally, we have not done the hot air balloon ride yet, but it is very popular in Temecula. My suggestion is to go on Google and find a company with good reviews before you book. I am sure most companies are highly rated throughout Temecula, as the competition is pretty steep.

Olive Oil Tasting

Temecula is also home to a number of olive oil tasting rooms, offering visitors the chance to sample some of the finest olive oils in the world. Whether you’re a fan of olive oil or just looking for a unique experience, this is an activity that you won’t want to miss.

In conclusion, Temecula is a fantastic destination for a weekend getaway, offering a variety of activities and attractions for visitors of all ages. Whether you’re looking for wine tasting, shopping, outdoor activities, or just a relaxing escape, you’ll find it all in Temecula. So why not plan your next weekend getaway to this charming city today?
