Bear Creek Murrieta

Bear Creek Murrieta is a beautiful golf community in Murrieta, California. Being an avid golfer myself, I thought it would be a great article and video to showcase both the golf course and the Bear Creek Murrieta community. In this blog post, I will talk about all the different membership opportunities, amenities, and costs.

On a side note, my mother and father-in-law lived in Bear Creek for 10 years and said it was their favorite house they ever lived in. They are very social and did use the golf course amenities and community to build long-lasting friendships that have lasted a lifetime.

First and foremost, I want to reiterate that Bear Creek Murrieta is a total golf experience and lifestyle that is not cheap. If you are not the type of person who will golf 3–4 times a week and get involved with the clubhouse, pool, and extracurricular activities, you might be better off just paying for golf courses around the area. Many people like the idea of living by a golf course with a nice clubhouse, well-kept landscaping, and a guarded gate, but when the price tag hits, they shy away. I will get into pricing later on in this blog post.

Safety

Murrieta as a whole is a beautiful, safe city. When it comes to Bear Creek Murrieta, it is definitely one of the toughest places to get into if you are not a resident or have access. It is not only gated, but it also has a 24-hour guard. For many people, this is a great amenity, but it does come at a cost. To give a quick example, when we show homes in Bear Creek, if we don’t have my actual real estate license card and ID, they will not give me access until the homeowner allows it. annoying for us, but good for the homeowners of Bear Creek Murrieta. If you’re paying for a guarded gate, you want it to actually work, and from our experience, it definitely does.

Homes

I usually don’t get into prices because they fluctuate through the years. In Bear Creek Murrieta, it’s literally impossible to get into prices as the variety of custom homes is almost staggering. You can go from a 12,000-square-foot home all the way down to a 3000-square-foot home. Depending on what you are looking for, there truly is an opportunity for everyone.

There are even parts of Bear Creek that have townhomes. In the video, I capture some footage of myself driving down one of Bear Creek’s main streets. It’s very beautiful, and you can see the variety of homes in regard to size and style. At the end of this blog post, I have set up a free home search for Bear Creek Murrieta.

Bear Creek Murrieta HOA & Amenities

Bear Creek Murrieta is not just a golf course. Amenities inside the community include an Olympic-size swimming pool, spa, clubhouse, weight room, cardio room, boccie ball court, clay and concrete tennis courts, meeting rooms, and offices, all of which are available and included in the HOA, which is around $290 a month. The video attached to this blog post has some footage of all these amenities. These amenities are well maintained. What we thought was interesting and had never seen before were clay tennis courts. We counted at least six or seven tennis courts, including one that seemed to be the main focus and was probably used for those championship matches.

Clubhouse

The clubhouse at Bear Creek offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as plenty of events for the community. Because of the coronavirus, I was unable to get footage of the inside, but it is definitely an intimate, laid-back setting with a nice, large patio overlooking the golf course and pond. We highly recommend that when viewing homes inside of Bear Creek, you take the time to check out the clubhouse. You do have a food and beverage budget per quarter, so you will be spending time there. Make sure it has the right vibe and fits you and your family.

Golf Course

Established in 1982 and a Jack Nicholas design, this private 18-hole course plays over 7,000 yards from the tips. It’s pretty flat and well-maintained. Slope is 146 and has a rating of 75.7. If you would like to see a copy of the Bear Creek scorecard, click here.

Overall, reviews of Bear Creek Golf Course are very good. If you’re looking for some insight and other opinions on what the golf course is like, here are some Google reviews

One great advantage of Bear Creek Golf Course is the sister golf courses that are now affiliated with Bear Creek. From our understanding, you can play these sister golf courses for nothing more than a cart fee. The sister golf courses include  Steele Canyon Golf Club, Dove Canyon Golf Club, and Pauma Valley Country Club. Also recently acquired is Bermuda Dunes Country Club. If you would like to read more about the sister courses, visit here and scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page. There you will find information and links to all the sister courses, which include location, scorecards, amenities, clubhouse information, and more.
