9 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD MOVE TO TEMECULA
Temecula California is a small city in Southern California. With a population of around a hundred thousand people, It has many amenities but doesn’t have that huge metropolitan feel. In this blog post and video, we will talk about the 9 reasons why you should move to Temecula. After living in many different areas of Southern California, we call Temecula home and are happy to pass along our experiences as local residents.
If Southern California is on your radar, home prices are definitely going to be a sticking point for many people, regardless of the area. Having said that, Temecula home prices are definitely one of the top reasons why you should move to Temecula. When you compare home prices in this area to many others, they are very affordable and attainable. As of writing this article, you can find a home for around $600,000. That would be a 2000- 2300 sq ft home with 3-4 bedrooms in a very nice community with a ton of amenities. That same home in most other areas, especially in San Diego County or Orange County would be well over a million.
Weather doesn’t need too much of an explanation in Southern California. Everyone knows that the sunshine state is exactly that. One thing that we love about Temecula specifically, is how the sun shines from morning to night, most days. The closer to the beach you get, the more gloomy days you get that often drag out into the afternoon. This is one of the reasons we prefer Inland Southern California. Yes, it does get hotter for two or three months in the summer compared to the beach but in our opinion, well worth it.
We talk about this a great deal in many of our specific community videos and blog posts. 70% of Temecula communities have wonderful amenities for their residents for a very reasonable monthly HOA fee. Generally speaking, HOA fees are going to be around $100 per month and with that, you will get community pools, hot tubs, basketball courts, tennis courts, volleyball courts, and walking paths. HOAs are very common in Southern California but often don’t enrich the lives of the residents all that much. Many times HOA fees pay for the upkeep of the entrance sign and some of the common area landscape. This is not the case for Temecula and is one of the top reasons why you should move to Temecula.
As a parent, one of the biggest obstacles about moving to Southern California is finding an area that is reasonably priced with good school districts. This is not always easy to find and oftentimes school districts that are rated high also have home prices in that school district that are unrealistic in way of purchasing. Temecula is probably one of the best cities for affordability but also has great schools with overall ratings above 8 in 95% of schools from elementary all the way to high school. If you are a family with young children this definitely is one of the top reasons why you should move to Temecula.
In regards to safety, yes, you can do your research and find out that Temecula is very safe with a very low crime rate. Coming from someone who lives here, there’s also a sense of safety, even at night. We rarely have issues, car break-ins are probably the most common thing that we’ve heard about. I often compare Temecula to the beach. We lived in San Clemente right on the ocean for many years. Near the end of living in San Clemente, my wife really couldn’t even walk along the beach past dark. Lots of homeless, drugs Etc. We are not going to be naive or pretend that Temecula doesn’t have these problems but it’s not in your face like many communities across Southern California, including the beach areas.
What do we mean by housing variety? Well, in Temecula you have an opportunity to live in more of a rural setting or in a planned, residential community. You have massive communities like Paloma Del Sol or Harveston Then offer residents a ton of amenities. Pools, Lakes, walking paths, basketball courts are all activities common in many of the communities throughout Temecula. If that is something that is of interest to you there is no shortage of this type of Lifestyle. We also talked a lot about how quiet these massive planned communities are. Yes, you are in proximity to many sayings including grocery stores, restaurants etcetera but once in the community they are very quiet and offer residents a sense of security and safety.
If you are looking for more of a rural setting, there are many areas in Temecula that have this as well. Communities like De Luz which is agricultural and has properties over 5 Acres at reasonable prices. If you’re looking for Wine Country, it’s very common to have properties over an acre end around that 1 million dollar Mark in way of the purchase price. You also have horse areas like Meadowview or Los Ranchitos.
When it comes to Meadowview in Los Ranchitos the one benefit is that you are almost in the middle of the city of Temecula. Very convenient for people that still want to have that rural feel but be close to things set to make your life more convenient. Wine Country will be a 10 to 15-minute drive into the town of Temecula. When it comes to De Luz, you definitely get that rural field but it’s a long drive into the town of Temecula and cell phone use is almost non-existent unless you were at your house with Wi-Fi.
Proximity To Many Great Day Trips
One of the best things about Southern California, in general, is the opportunity for so many weekend getaways. Las Vegas, Beaches, Los Angeles, Big Bear, and Palm Springs are just a few cities within a short drive of Temecula that are great to visit for a few days. If you are a person that enjoys weekend getaways, Temecula is very Central and only a short distance and way of drive time to most of these areas.
For those that fly a lot, we have four airports within an hour and a half Drive of Temecula. We have San Diego, Ontario, John Wayne Airport which is in Orange County, and of course LAX. This makes it very convenient for anybody that needs to fly hello okay planning on listings no I’m not listed and who knows
Of course, we have to mention wineries. The wineries in Temecula are growing every year and they are a huge part of the local economy and something people have a lot of fun doing. There are over forty wineries in Temecula each having its own unique draw. We belong to 4 wineries and find it very relaxing while being affordable. When you take into consideration what it costs to have a glass of wine at a restaurant then compare it to what you pay monthly for a wine membership it’s well worth it. Most wineries allow you a taste every day. Many of the wineries have great views, restaurants, shops, beautiful tasting areas, and tours.
