5 Inexpensive Date Nights in Temecula

Temecula is an amazing city with so much to offer. If you’re a little light on cash but still want to have a fun night or day with friends, a boyfriend, or your husband, I thought “5 inexpensive date nights in Temecula” would be the perfect blog post. I’ll go into more specifics and details below, but the 5 inexpensive date nights in Temecula include Somerset Winery, happy hour at Yard House, happy hour at South Coast Winery, garlic bread loaf at Maurice Carrie Winery, and taco Tuesday at Akash Winery.

Somerset Winery

On a Friday or Saturday night, you don’t get much better than Somerset Winery. We have been several times over the past few months and have had fun every single time. They have food trucks set up in the parking lot; last week’s offerings included empanadas and kettle corn. The wine prices are reasonable, and they have either a live band or DJ. The last weekend we went, it was packed and tons of fun (but not so busy that it got annoying). There was a DJ, and everybody was up dancing and enjoying the night. There is also plenty of space to walk around the grounds at night; everything is lit up, and it was fun to take a break from the music and sit outside with friends. In regards to prices, you could probably do the whole night at Somerset with two glasses of wine and something to eat for around $50.

Yardhouse Happy Hour

This is honestly one of the best happy hours around. I know it’s a chain, but you really can’t beat the prices on their great appetizers. Some of our favorite appetizers cost around $6 during happy hour, which is from 4 to 6 p.m. They include poke nachos, chicken nachos, barbecue chicken pizza, sliders, chicken fingers, and french fries. The truffle fries are really good, but you have to ask for them. They also have sweet potato fries, which are very good. We love the atmosphere at Yard House; they have a huge bar with every beer imaginable, and TVs often play current sporting events. It’s basically a sports bar with great food and prices during happy hour. It is located in the outdoor Temecula promenade mall, which is a fun place to walk around before or after dinner. It’s always lit up and has some great shopping and other restaurants for dessert or drinks.

Maurice Carrie

Maurice Carrie has something that we can’t live without. They make a sourdough bread loaf with garlic butter and brie cheese. They stick it in the oven, bake it for 20 minutes, and voila, instant amazing lunch! Another thing we love about Maurice Carrie Winery is the massive green space in front of the winery where you can picnic, drink a glass of wine, and enjoy the beautiful views and weather. They also have vendors on weekends that sell clothing and different types of jewelry. They also allow you to bring your own wine. My suggestion?  Bring a bottle of wine that you love, throw a blanket in the back of your car, take a drive out to Maurice Carrie Winery, get a bread bowl, and have a picnic. It’s a really inexpensive date, but so much fun.

Akash Winery Taco Tuesday

This was a really fun night we had last week. First, we want to give credit to the winery and how they have decorated. It has a modern look with beautifully painted wine barrels and a wine barrel backdrop behind the tasting table. The wine was great, and the tacos and quesadillas were amazing. They serve tacos from 4 to 8 p.m., and they cost $2 per taco. Taco meat includes pastor, chicken, and asada. Another unique thing about Akash Winery is that all of the seating faces the sunset. What a great way to spend an evening! Eat tacos, drink wine, and watch a sunset. We also met some great people and had a lot of fun. The venue is getting busier, so be aware that tacos could take 20 to 30 minutes to make.

South Coast

South Coast Winery is probably in the top two or three most popular wineries in all of Temecula. Wine tasting, overnight stays, a spa, a pool, and restaurants are all amenities available at South Coast Winery. It’s a beautiful place, but it can be a little pricey. That’s why we found out about happy hour and brought it directly to you! Happy hour at South Coast Winery is Monday through Friday from 3 to 5 and Saturday and Sunday from 3:30 to 5:30. This is a great opportunity to see one of the most beautiful wineries in Temecula and not kill your bank account. Wine glasses are around $6.50 each, and they also have some happy hour appetizers. One of the waitresses mentioned they will be coming out with a brand new happy hour menu with an extended appetizer menu very soon. So grab a glass of wine, walk around the grounds, and enjoy the beautiful weather Temecula has to offer. This is a great idea for an inexpensive date night in Temecula.
