5 Fun Things to Do in Temecula Nobody Knows About
I’m sure some of you have heard about a few of these, but I thought I would refresh the memory and write a blog and produce a video on “5 Fun Things To Do In Temecula Nobody Knows About.” In this blog post and video, I’m going to talk about specific happy hours, boat rides, restaurants, and wineries.
South Coast Winery Happy Hour
If you haven’t heard of South Coast Winery in Temecula, it is probably one of the most popular and well-known wineries in all of Temecula Wine Country. Tastings, the wine club, and overnight stays can get expensive, but did you know they had a happy hour? How cool is that? The Vineyard Rose Restaurant at South Coast Winery Resort & Spa has happy hour. Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–5:30 pm; Saturday and Sunday, 3:30 pm-5:30 pm. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a beautiful winery with discounted appetizers, local draft beers, and select glasses of wine. If you are on a budget, this is a great way to see one of the most beautiful wineries in all of Temecula. Two glasses of wine, including tip, will cost around $14.While we were there, the server mentioned that the winery is working on a brand-new happy hour menu with a variety of new appetizers to enjoy. As many of you know, Temecula has some beautiful weather. What better way to spend a Sunday than at a beautiful winery, enjoying an inexpensive glass of wine while walking around and enjoying the beautiful landscape and well-manicured grounds?

Yardhouse Wine Wednesday
Not only does Yardhouse make our list of the top happy hours in Temecula, but they also have Wine Wednesday in addition to happy hour. Wine Wednesday includes half-off appetizers and half-off bottles of wine. This is a great place to go if you’re looking for good food and an inexpensive date night. Two bottles of wine will cost around $20 after being discounted by half. The appetizers, which include Ahi nachos, chicken nachos, sliders, chicken fingers, and pizza, are all half-off. For being a chain restaurant, Yard House really does have great food. Happy hours at Yard House run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily, Monday to Friday. Of course, Wednesday is only Wednesday.
Maurice Brie Carrie CheeseSourdough Loaf
If you like bread and cheese, your next outing needs to be to Maurice Carrie Winery. This has always been one of our favorite things to do. Also, one of the great things about Maurice Carrie is that they allow you to bring your own food and even wine if you’d like for a picnic on their beautiful front lawn area. We usually buy a bottle of wine and get a sourdough loaf. This bread is out of this world. They bake a large sourdough loaf of bread, and in the middle, they have garlic butter and brie cheese. If you’re looking to indulge your senses and grow your waistline, look no further than Maurice Carrie. They have a large grassy area where you can picnic, and on weekends there are vendors selling jewelry, clothes, and other items. This definitely makes the list of the top five fun things to do in Temecula that nobody knows about.
Taco Tuesday at Akash Winery
We heard about this about a week ago and thought, what a great idea! This Taco Tuesday is at Akash Winery from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. The video on this blog post shows you a little bit about the winery and the vendor responsible for the taco Tuesdays. We were pleasantly surprised and thought the tacos and quesadillas were really, really good. They have chicken, pastor, and Asada. I got one of each, and all three of them were awesome.
Christie, my wife, got two quesadillas. There is a short clip in the video that shows what they look like. What better way to spend the night on a Tuesday? You not only get to eat really good $2 tacos, but you also get stunning views of the Temecula Valley, vineyards, and beautiful sunsets. We also met a lot of really fun people. This has been one of our favorite nights over the past year, and we will definitely be returning for another Taco Tuesday. They do get pretty busy, so be aware that tacos or quesadillas take around 20 to 30 minutes to make and deliver.
In regards to the Akash Winery, the bottle of wine we bought was very good. The inside of the winery was beautiful. It has a more modern look with really neatly painted wine barrels and artwork. The backdrop of the tasting area is lined with wine barrels. The seating area is plentiful and right out in front of the winery. They have the seating area positioned so that all patrons can see some beautiful sunsets.
Boat Ride at Harveston Lake
This is probably going to be the priciest option on our list, but it’s still a great deal of fun on a nice day. Harveston Lake is located in the Harveston community in Temecula. Boat rides are available for 2 people for $20 for 30 minutes, with $20 added for every 30 minutes. Yes, you might say this is a little pricey, but there are also other things to do after your boat ride. You can walk around the 1-mile trail, watch and feed the ducks (I don’t know if you are allowed to, but people always do it), or enjoy a picnic on the many tables or grassy areas throughout the park. Harveston Lake would be a great option to spend the afternoon with family and friends.
