5 Best Reasons To Retire In Temecula In 2022

Temecula is a wonderful place to live and one of our favorite places in all of Southern California. We are grateful that we got the opportunity to find this gem of a city, and love sharing it with others. This blog post is going to give you 5 Best Reasons To Retire In Temecula In 2022. We will also include a localized home search at the bottom of this blog post. these listings are straight from the MLS and updated daily. You can customize your search and look for any type of home that floats your boat.

Weather

You can’t make sunshine and warmth. I am from Canada and although I miss my friends, I could never move back. I basically see the sun over 300 days a year and the average temperature is going to run from 70 to 90 degrees. The mornings in the winter are cool, 35 to 45 degrees, but the days are usually sunny and temperatures range from 65 and 80 degrees.

The warm months are June, July, August, and September. (95-105) Yes, it does get hot but only for 3 to 4 hours during the day. An hour before sunset, it really starts to cool down and you get the absolute perfect temperature, like Hawaii good. We love going out to dinner during the summer months around sunset, sitting on a patio, and enjoying a drink. You don’t need jackets, and shorts are perfect. Hell, no shirts work if you want to venture out that far.

Rain and Gloom

Most of the rain and gloom is going to be December, January, and February. Depending on the year, we could have rain 6-7 times a month.  Many times, it will rain at night and you’ll have sun the next day. Temecula gets more sun than the beach because we don’t have the June Gloom. When I lived at the beach, the June Gloom did get to me and was happy to see it leave. I love seeing the sun almost every day and Temecula is the perfect City for that

Golf

If you are a golfer, the Temecula area is going to be a paradise for you. Being retired, many will be on a fixed income. The beautiful thing about the Temecula area is you can routinely find over 30 golf courses to play for under $50 a round during the week. I usually just use GolfNow and if you’re willing to play around lunch, expect to pay 30 to $50.

Some of the courses in Temecula that are beautiful include Redhawk, Cross Creek, Temeku Hills and Journey at the Pechanga Casino. Journey at Pechanga Casino on GolfNow is usually going to run around  $80 a round. In my opinion, it’s one of the most beautiful courses in all of Southern California. For $80 you can’t beat it.

Once you have played all the golf courses in Temecula we have surrounding cities like Fallbrook, Murrieta, Bonsall, Vista, or Menifee with many courses as well. If you decide to check Temecula out, give me a call, I’m always up to play 18 holes.

Medical Facilities

I’m not going to spend too much time explaining the medical facilities, as  I’ve been lucky enough not to use them. What I can say, and a simple Google search will confirm is that both the Temecula and Murrieta areas have state-of-the-art, cutting-edge technology and medical facilities.

Amenities

I’m guessing when you retire you will want to enjoy the finer things in life and have them easily accessible. Temecula is going to be your heaven in regards to things to do and amenities close by.

Restaurants

If I spent a year just going to restaurants daily,  I probably wouldn’t get all of them in Temecula. One of the best things about Southern California is the competition, if you’re not good, you don’t survive. There are so many options, from quick takeout to sit down luxury dinners, Temecula has it all. One of our favorite things to do is go walk around the Promenade outdoor mall in Temecula and go to happy hour at Yard House. They have wine Wednesdays, half-off bottles of wine and also half-off appetizers until 6 pm. They have great food, a good atmosphere,  a great variety of beer and sports are always on the TVs.

Old Town

We usually go to Old Town on a Friday or Saturday night for dinner and a drink. It’s also a great spot for brunch on Sundays. A really fun day for us is starting in Old Town on a Sunday morning, enjoy brunch at 1909, and then head off to the wineries for the day. It’s also a very easy street to walk up and down and get some exercise while looking at all the boutique shops.

I have a specific blog post in video on Old Town here

The Casino

We have come to learn that the casino is so much more than just gambling. Often, we will visit on a Friday night, go to dinner, walk around and then see a show or comedy. There is also a beautiful RV park and Spa with a pool on the premises. If you’re really adventurous, there’s nightclubs with DJs and dancing

Wine Country

You can’t mention Temecula without talking about wine country. I have plenty of blog posts and videos on the various wineries throughout Temecula, so I’ll be quick with this one. It’s a wonderful, relaxing afternoon visiting a few of the over-40 wineries in Temecula. Even if you don’t drink, it’s a nice day to drive around, enjoy the views and weather with good friends.

Affordability

A lot of people talk about how expensive California is, and yes, if you compare it to many areas throughout the United States it’s going to be at the top end in regards to both housing in gas prices.

Temecula however, is probably one of the most affordable, safe and clean cities in all of Southern California. You do have to pay up a little bit for this weather and the convenience of everything Southern California has to offer. One thing I strongly believe is an investment in the Temecula real estate market is going to be a good one. Temecula is relatively unknown in my opinion. When people talk about wineries it’s always Napa or Sonoma. Southern California has 20 million people, Temecula has grown 150% since the year 2000. It’s only a matter of time that people start to catch on in regards to how much Temecula has to offer, its beauty and overall quality of life
