Temecula’s Top 3 Sports Bars
One of our favorite things to do is catch a few football games on a Sunday morning or afternoon at a local sports bar. We have had the opportunity to visit many of the different sports bars around the area, and we thought it would be a great idea to write a blog post or article with a video on the 3 best sports bars in Temecula. The sports bars we will talk about are not just one-time experiences for us; we have visited all four of these sports bars multiple times. Every single time we’ve gone, we’ve had a great time. Service, food, and drinks were all great, and we enjoyed ourselves.
Generally speaking, when you search sports bars on either Google or Yelp, they often do not get very good reviews overall. Our personal experiences with each of these sports bars are much better than three stars.
The CoveÂ
This is probably our favorite, and one of the biggest reasons is that it is close to our house. We are pretty sure it has gone through new ownership, and they are doing a great job. A few highlights that we love include great service, really good food, and lots of space.
The Service
The service is awesome; the first time we went was during brunch on a Sunday. Not only are all the servers happy and friendly, but they are on it. Last Sunday, they never let our mimosas get below half. One of the things that have irritated us since is that refined service has greatly diminished everywhere. It’s refreshing to go to a restaurant and actually see people enjoying what they do.
The Food
We had a few things to eat at the restaurant, and they are all great. We have eaten brunch here twice, and the eggs benedict are awesome. We also love the sliced zucchini during happy hour. One of the things people seem to complain about with regard to sports bars is the food. We personally haven’t eaten anything we haven’t liked at The Cove.
Happy hour
They have a daily happy hour from 3 to 7. One of our favorite things on the menu for happy hour is the sliced zucchini. They have some great food and drink specials.
Sports and TV
They probably have 15 to 20 TVs inside, and they also have an area set up right outside along the walkway. Tents cover you from the sun, and they have TVs set up on Sunday so you can watch the games outside as well as inside.
Location
The location of the cove is great; it’s right off the 215 freeway and near Murrieta Hot Springs. Whether you are stopping for lunch or going to watch the game, definitely check out The Cove.
Uncle Bob’s Sports Bar & Grill
We do love Uncle Bob’s, and we would probably go there a little more if it weren’t in the south end of Temecula. It’s located right off Temecula Pky., and the address is 32483 Temecula Pky., Temecula, CA 92592.
The Food
If we were to rate the food at all of these restaurants, Uncle Bob’s would probably be the winner. They have great burgers, sandwiches, fries, etc. It is probably the smallest of the three sports bars. They now have outdoor seating.
The Service
All the servers and bartenders are great, very friendly, and work hard. We personally enjoy sitting at the bar; it’s got a great atmosphere, you get served quickly, and there are lots of TVs around to watch the games. The bartenders are eager to have a conversation, and we’ve enjoyed Uncle Bob’s Sports Bar every time we have visited.
TV and Sports
The only downside? The people sitting outside don’t really have the opportunity to watch any sports. With recent shutdowns and social distancing because of COVID, they can’t hold a ton of people inside; it’s not a huge place.
The Tilted Kilt
If you are offended by girls in short kilts, don’t go here. One of the biggest reasons we enjoy the Tilted Kilt is the atmosphere. On Sundays, it’s definitely a fun place, and there are many people cheering their teams on. It also helps that it’s relatively close to our home in North Temecula.
The food
We have ordered food a few times, and it is always good. It’s not like we’re going to go on an anniversary dinner here, but for sandwiches, burgers, and some French fries, it’s perfect. Again, one of the biggest reasons we come here is the atmosphere and to hearing people cheering on their teams.
Space
Another reason we like the Tilted Kilt is its size. There’s a large bar area that faces outside, with TVs around the bar. There is also an area outside where you can sit and watch TV while facing the bar. Another bonus is that the inside is huge, and they also have tons of outdoor seating. If you’re worried about being close to somebody else because of COVID, the Tilted Kilt is definitely large and in charge.
Service
We have never had issues with the service. They have always been on top of their business. The Cove still wins for friendly service, though.
Bonus Sports Bar
The Skybox
We wanted to add a bonus sports bar but couldn’t include it in the top three for Temecula because it’s not actually in Temecula; it’s in Winchester. Temecula, Murrieta, and Winchester are all relatively close, and we had such a good experience here the few times that we visited that we wanted to include it in our blog post and video.
One of the things that you do notice right away is that it’s a straight Townie bar. It seems like The Skybox is visited by many locals.
The Food
When you first walk in this place, you’d never guess that it has great food, but boy, do they deliver. If you like fried pickles, you need to try them.
Atmosphere
When we visited on Sunday, one of the things that we found interesting that makes this place unique is that they play some games during the games. They have raffles and make the entire day enjoyable for everyone.
