TEMECULA CA WEATHER EXPLAINED

The 4 Seasons in Temecula Explained

I never thought I would be doing a video and article explaining the four seasons in Temecula but I do get a lot of questions about it. There is no doubt, Temecula has some of the best weather in all of the United States. In this blog post and video, I’m going to explain the four seasons in Temecula. This will help people understand what the weather’s like in Temecula year-round. We might not have the traditional 4 seasons in Temecula but there are some changes throughout the year.

5 Things To Do In Temecula, California on The Weekend

Summer in Temecula

Starts June 20th

You can bet that by June 20th the warm weather is here, especially early/late afternoons but not to the point where it is uncomfortable. June or the start of summer is some of the best weather in Temecula. Why? The mornings are still cool and the sun is always shining which makes for some amazing walking weather.

The last three months of Summer, July, August, and September are the months I always warn people about on my videos. It gets hot, really hot, especially August and September. Last year the hottest it got was 110 but you can expect 95-100 degrees daily for a few months. Personally, this is my River weather, pool weather, or indoor weather. Another thing I liked about the later summer months is the temperature in the evenings. Once the sun sets it’s Hawaii weather or temperatures. You can sit out on your patio with shorts, no shirt and feel perfectly comfortable.

People need to understand that Temecula does get hot in the summer, but it’s only four 4 to 5 hours during the day. The mornings are still nice and when the sun sets it’s perfect. If you enjoy sitting on the patio so we’re going to happy hour this is the best time of year.

This is also the season when your air conditioning bill is going to go through the roof unless you have solar. If you live in a home that’s 2500 sqft, expect to have electric bills that range from $350 to $600 a month without solar. Please do not take the last statement as you should get solar, in some cases IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. If you have questions about solar or want my opinion, please reach out.

Another thing I love about Temecula compared to the beach in early summer is that there is no June gloom. We lived at the beach for many years and there were a few June months where the sun didn’t come out for two or three weeks. This is another benefit of living inland in Southern California. The sun is out more, especially in the mornings.

One of our favorite things to do in the summer is blueberry picking in Temecula. A really fun activity and the blueberries are amazing! If you would like to read more about 4 unique, fun things to do in Temecula check out this blog post.

Golfing in the summer is one of my favorite times. Reason being? During the week, you can start around at 3 in the afternoon and finish. Usually, golf courses will have twilight rates later on in the afternoon. This allows you to pay a lot less for a round of golf and get to finish. Also, the temperature is perfect in the summer from 6 p.m. on.

Fall In Temecula

Sept 22nd

I think September is one of the best months for weather throughout the world. One of our favorite months to travel in September. The kids are back in school, it’s less busy and the weather is perfect. In Temecula, September can be very hot. Last year, there were a few days in September when the temperature hit 100 degrees. If I was to travel to Temecula in the fall, a better month would be October. October has some beautiful weather and is perfect for wine tasting.

Winter in Temecula

 Dec 21st

If you enjoy the sunshine, obviously Southern California or Temecula spoils you, even during winter. Having said that, winter in Temecula can be very random when it comes to weather. You can have a day where it’s 80 degrees and then for the next week it rains and it’s cold. (MEANING 50’S-LOW 60’S). Then have a week where it’s 60 to 70 degrees every day with sunshine and then have another week with rain. There’s no rhyme or reason for the temperatures, sun, or rain. One of the things I can say that is consistent throughout the winter is those mornings in Temecula are cold. There are a handful of mornings every year that will get in the 30s.

As I write this blog article, it is one day before spring, March 19th. I look out my window and it’s 75 degrees and we are having a barbecue tonight. The previous two weeks were not the greatest, cold, rainy, and overcast.

If you are a golfer, winter is probably one of the worst times for you. One of the biggest reasons is the time change. You have to get on the golf course by 12 to finish your round and the cost to play 18 holes at this time is much more expensive.

Spring in Temecula

Spring March 20th

Spring is another season that many people love in the Temecula Valley. One of the best things about spring is that we are coming off the rainy season so all the hills are green throughout the Temecula area. This makes for some great scenery while driving around the area.

I don’t mean to sound spoiled but we also like putting those cold rainy days behind us and the time changes so we get some extra daylight time to enjoy the great weather!

If you enjoy hiking, the Spring season is absolutely perfect. If you are into hiking and are looking for Trails check out the alltrails app.  It has everything you need to know to about the local hiking trails.
