Top Wineries in Temecula, Somerset Winery

Our goal over the next few years is to document wineries in Temecula and pass information on through videos and blog posts. We want people to know our picks for the top wineries in Temecula. Somerset was on our list after visiting a few weeks ago on a Friday night. We had so much fun! Live Music, people dancing and wine flowing, we had to come back during the day for a video.

Information & History

Somerset Winery is rooted on 13 acres with many Rhône varietals such as Viognier, Roussanne, Grenache, and Syrah as well as the Spanish Macabeo, Monastrell and Tempranillo. To us, it has a relaxed type of feel, not stuffy at all. It reminded us of the town bar, where everybody loves going to hang out with friends. It has a large front gate right off De Portola Road in Temecula. The main building is smaller, but very inviting, often with live music playing, football games on the TV and groups of people having a great time. We were a little bummed, we just missed the one-year anniversary which was the previous day and supposedly a blast.

Things To Do

While walking around the grounds you’ll notice a variety of activities and different areas to hang out. Towards the front of Somerset winery, there is an area with some kind of bocce ball game and a covered patio. The seating overlooks the grape Vines, which is very nice.

Just off the main building, there’s an outdoor secondary bar with seating and an area where the live music plays, people dance and also the dog friendly zone. Towards the back of the winery, it looks to be some sort of event area, perfect for a wedding or large event. There’s also corn hole, which is a game where you throw bean bags into a hole. (Terrible Description) If you haven’t played it’s actually really fun.

Our goal before starting these blog posts and videos was to not only help the community but find three wineries in Temecula to join ourselves. We have taken our time and weighed out the pros and cons of each winery. Somerset has checked off a number of boxes and have decided to join. We love the intimate, non-stuffy setting. We also enjoy the idea of being able to visit on a Friday night and always have some sort of entertainment

  • […] Temecula is no slouch either when it comes to relaxing. With the wineries, Old Town, Casino, hiking and hundreds of restaurants Temecula is truly is an amazing place to either vacation or live. It doesn’t get much better than spending a Sunday afternoon at the wineries enjoying the nice breeze, gorgeous valley views and great wine. One of the things we consistently do that relieves a lot of stress from our work is spend one afternoon a week at one of the wineries. Many of the wineries have live music on Friday and Saturday nights which is great. One of our favorites is Somerset, we have an article and video here. […]
